Certification Details and Participant Information
Your certification applies to the specific mask/respirator make, and model used during your test.
The $49 plus HST fee applies to accepted N95, R95, P95, reusable half-face and full-face respirators during individual public sessions. This fee covers 1 certification per participant.
Contact MaskFit+ before registering if you require certification on more than one respirator.
Participants requiring full-face respirator testing must provide their own full-face respirator.
MaskFit+ currently carries selected 3M clinical-grade N95 respirators and 3M half-face respirators. Because thousands of respirator brands, models and sizes are available, MaskFit+ cannot stock every product..
- All participants MUST be clean-shaven for respirator mask fit testing (NO EXCEPTIONS!). See facial surfaces.

Bring the exact respirator make, model and size required by your employer or school unless you selected MaskFit+’s N95 mask-sizing service.
Be clean-shaven
You must be clean-shaven wherever the respirator seals against your face or neck. Facial hair cannot cross or interfere with the sealing surface.
A moustache may be acceptable when it remains completely outside the respirator’s sealing area.
Participants who do not meet the facial-hair requirements cannot complete the fit test. Speak with your employer or school program coordinator when you are unable to shave for health or religious reasons.
Avoid eating, drinking, smoking and gum
For at least 15 minutes before your session, do not:
- Eat
- Drink (except water)
- Smoke
- Chew gum
Water may be consumed before and during the session.
Complete your form
Complete the Qualitative Mask Fit Test Participant Form provided with your confirmation and bring a printed copy to your session.
Arrive on time
Public sessions are conducted as groups, and participants begin the certification process together. Late arrivals may not be admitted because they can interrupt the session.
